The staff at Safe Passages Counseling provide support, information, education and assistance in resolving problems that arise in life crises, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, problems at work and relationship abuse.
Counseling involves finding a path that fits your situation and your needs. At Safe Passages, highly-researched mental health counseling techniques enable you to explore and determine what you need, so you can find solutions and restoration.
Safe Passages Counseling specializes in addressing the needs of the partner or spouse of a sex addict based upon her/his identified and individual needs. Everyone is treated with compassion and appreciation for the unique way they adapt to stressful life situations.
Dr. Barbara Steffens, whose research combined with her clinical experience and the experiences of the spouses/partners she has treated over the years, is shaping the development of a new and much-needed treatment model. Not one that is addict-centric – or focused on the needs of the person with the sexual addiction – but a model that treats the crisis and traumatic experience of the partner/spouse and is partner-sensitive.
Please note: We do not provide distance counseling outside of the state of Ohio. To locate a therapist near you, go to www.apsats.org.
Coaching is a process where your strengths are identified and built upon as you seek to understand and respond to being in relationship with a sexual addict or compulsive person.
We’ll help you identify, map and achieve your goals, so you can move forward into healthy living and relationships. With guidance, you will discover your own path of hope and recovery after significant betrayal. Both individual and group coaching are available and can take place by telephone, internet or in person.
